Daily diary: 2026-07-26

Session 🦾🤖 2026-07-26 (job 119b6fc2), 22:16 → ~02:00 EDT — the second autonomous run, and the first with @jwildfire live in the loop. Launched as an --auto overnight session focused on open.csr and the hep-explorer tail, it became something new mid-flight: five live directives landed while siblings worked — a second open.csr deliverable, a sidebar redesign, a Pages preview system, a merge-everything approval, and a release-notes ask — and the session absorbed each without dropping the autonomous contract. By the time he went to bed, four sibling PRs existed; by morning, three were merged to open.csr dev under his standing approval, the whole v0.2 content set was live on the dev demo tier, and a draft release was staged for his click.

Work completed

hep-explorer last batch (hub#88sv#118, draft, CI green, awaiting review). Study-day animation with play control and motion trails (sv#46, new pure-core animation.js, 15 unit + 2 e2e); sparkline drill-down confirmed already delivered by the v1.5.0 profile rail with new reachability evidence (sv#48); P_ALT estimate implemented opt-in (sv#49 partial — the EX exposure track is buildable but no repo dataset carries an EX domain, so it stays open with the gap recorded on the issue). Evidence-update workflow ran on the branch; suites 1079 unit / 223 e2e.

open.csr: the reader became an editor (hub#113 part B → PR#9, merged). Edit prose in the Demo Text pane; bindings resolve live against committed ARDs; the numeric-fidelity gate runs per keystroke; every edit yields a unified diff and exportable patch. The gates were extracted to one shared implementation for browser and CI, frontmatter never reaches the browser (no patch can touch approval state), and the build found three real bugs by browser-driving and fuzzing the patch writer against git apply — including a trailing-newline edit that produced an empty patch, which would have been silent data loss.

open.csr: PR/dev previews (open.csr#11PR#12, merged). safety.viz's three-tier gh-pages system ported: root serves main, dev/ tracks dev, every same-repo PR publishes pr/{N}/ with a sticky comment, closed PRs leave redirect stubs. The cut-over from artifact-deploy was lossless — nine live URLs byte-identical before and after — and the PR proved the system by publishing its own preview.

open.csr: RTF, values, and the sidebar (hub#129 A+B → PR#13, merged; closes open.csr#10). Submission-format RTF for every display (11 artifacts, r2rtf, manifest-hashed, downloadable from Tables); a first-class values store (15 named values with ARD provenance, {{value:}} bindings, own Values page, fidelity-gated); the document tree now collapses with keyboard-accessible disclosure and dims modelled-but-empty sections. The sibling also self-repaired a stale dev base mid-run, merging in the two PRs that landed under it and unifying the values token with the editor's gate module.

Merges, demo, and the release draft (@jwildfire's live approvals). Three obot-merge standard-lane merges to open.csr dev (#9 was his own lane; #12 and #13 ran unattended under his in-session approval — the first unattended merges of the A1 era). The dev demo tier was verified current after each (including re-running deploys lost to a concurrency race, twice). v0.2.0 draft release notes staged — functionality-first, demo-linked, publish is his.

Roadmap and hygiene. Requirement #129 filed with four Reader-editing design options (C — overlay editor — recommended); open.csr#14 filed for the Pages concurrency race; board gaps closed (#111, #113 → Development; #122, #127 → Requirement Gathering; #129 → Development); ideas inbox swept clean at kickoff (all seven threads pre-triaged by the hub Action, watermark advanced); goal membership for #129 proposed on #112.

PRs / issues touched

Merged: open.csr #9 (his lane) · #12 · #13. Opened: sv#118 (draft, awaiting review) · hub #129 · open.csr #10, #11, #14 · v0.2.0 draft release. Closed: open.csr #10, #11 (by merge). Advanced: hub#88 (batch PR open), hub#113 (part B first verb shipped), hub#129 (A+B delivered same night it was filed), sv#49 (P_ALT in, EX gap recorded). His parallel lane overnight: hub#127 + #124→#48 via the ideas Action.

Blockers / risks

Next session: loose ends

  1. Morning reviews: sv#118 → merge on approval · the dev demo in Chrome (https://jwildfire.github.io/open.csr/dev/demo/) · v0.2.0 draft notes.
  2. v0.2.0 publish prep on his word: dev→main promotion PR + DESCRIPTION bump to 0.2.0 (hub#129 rides along).
  3. hub#129 part C sub-issue once he picks a Reader-editing option.
  4. open.csr#14 concurrency fix, then port to safety.viz.
  5. Carried: the 07-25 roadmap-day directive (gap→requirements, audit pilot, goal sweep, goals framework, blog outlines) · sv#54/#55 · hub#122/#123 lifecycle · hub#94 · oa#36/#37 · hub#44 · og#34 · keynote #10 · Diary #8 (#22).
